Weplan supported the Italian National Olympic Committee in bidding to host the 2019 IOC Session in Italy.
Our team was in charge of the candidacy dossier and the overall project management of the bid, providing expert technical assistance throughout the bidding process.
On 15th September 2017, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) approved Milan as host city for the 2019 IOC Session.
In partnership with CSM Strategic, Weplan supported the Rome 2024 Bid Committee throughout the bid process to establish the Host Nation of the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad.
Our team was responsible for the preparation of the candidacy dossier, including the project management of all related activities.
In March 2015, Weplan was selected to support the Italian Golf Federation in its bid to host the 2022 Ryder Cup in Rome.
Our team supported the Italian Golf Federation in preparing the candidacy dossier and with all related project management activities.
On 14th December 2015, Ryder Cup Europe selected the Italian project over those put forward by Austria, Germany and Spain.

Roberto Daneo was Senior Advisor to the World Expo 2020 Dubai Bid Committee, with Dubai selected in November 2013 to host the World Expo.
As Senior Advisor, Roberto worked on the preparation of the candidacy dossier as well as the international campaign to promote the Dubai bid among BIE member states and delegates.
Additionally, he advised the Committee on the preparation and organisation of the official candidacy events (Enquiry Mission, thematic fora for BIE delegates, presentations to the General Assembly, etc.).
Roberto Daneo was Senior Advisor to the Expo 2017 Liège Bid Committee.
As Senior Advisor, Roberto worked on the preparation of the candidacy dossier, the quality and feasibility of which was considered excellent by the BIE.
Additionally, he advised the Committee on the preparation and organisation of the official candidacy events (Enquiry Mission, thematic fora for BIE delegates, presentations to the General Assembly, etc.).
Weplan was part of the project team that in 2011 prepared the technical document for the ‘Assignment of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies’ and 15 additional entertainment events at the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Rio in 2016.
Events included the flag handover during the closing ceremony of the London 2012, the tour of the Olympic flame, the tour of the Olympic flag, the activities of sport production for the animation of the competition sites, and the organisation of “Live Sites”.
The project won the competition, resulting in the signature of a contract between Filmmaster and the Organizing Committee of Rio 2016.
