Roberto Daneo was the Authority Relations Director, responsible for supervising the governance mechanisms related to the Games and to promote information and consensus-building as well as the area around the Olympic project.
Roberto was also responsible for the “City Operations” program, whose scope was to plan all the services that the City of Turin, the mountain venue cities and the Region had to deliver in order to stage successfully the Games.
Furthermore, he coordinated the Olympic Education Programme in partnership with the Ministry for Education. School kits were distributed in more than 7,500 schools in Italy and almost 600,000 students directly participated in 25 different educational projects (105,000 spectators from schools at the Games, 70,000 in other preparatory sport events).
He was in charge of all the special projects for social sustainability, including a comprehensive program of events in support of the Olympic Truce (in partnership with the European Commission, the IOC, UNICEF).
